Our in-stock inventory is ever-evolving, offering takedown recurves and longbows in a variety of bow lengths and weights, handle lengths and wood embellishments. Upgraded Longbows

Designed with the perfect ratio of reflex to deflex, our takedown longbow incorporates all the performance-boosting qualities expected in a Bob Lee bow. From the bamboo limb core to the exceptional side-to-side torsional strength of carbon twill, our longbow limbs deliver maximum punch while maintaining the forgiving nature of a longbow Add to that the upgraded mass of our phenolic handle and you have the winning formula of the Bob Lee DiamondBack longbow. (Our DiamondBack is so named for the diamond pattern of the carbon, with a nod to its cousin the Bob Lee Cobra recurve, with its supercurve limbs resembling that of a snake in strike position).

The Merits of a Takedown Longbow

Our three-piece, detachable limb design affords versatility and ease of transport:

• Our longbow riser (handle) may be paired with lighter limbs for tournament shooting or backyard practice, while heavier limbs can be coupled with the same riser for bow hunting. Or, one might go heaver still for bigger game–effectively having three bows for less investment.
• The interchangeable limbs allow competitive archers to shoot multiple classes during the same event by pairing a set of recurve limbs and longbow limbs with the same handle.
• Our disassembled bows are perfect for packing in to the hunt or checking for a flight at the airport.

Limb Attachment Options

With the Bob Lee detachable limb design comes a choice of two dynamic attachment systems: dual-bolt and the Stabi-Lock™.

Our dual-bolt design ensures precision limb alignment, hearkening back to Bob Lee’s Wing Presentation II, the first laminated glass three-piece bow, introduced in the 1960s. Many of the takedown systems on the market today still emulate Bob’s three-piece design while opting for a single-bolt attachment.

Our proprietary Stabi-Lock™ system boasts a limb wedge with detents that seat effortlessly into the receiving channel of our Stabi-Lock™ handles. No tools, no bolts to loosen or tighten. Simply slide and click to assemble, and a slight thumb nudge to disengage the limbs. The added mass of each limb wedge lends yet more stabilizing qualities to our already-hefty phenolic (micarta) handle, preserving kinetic energy for a more powerful, incredibly-quiet shot.
